What We’re Growing

KGD FARM COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA) PROGRAMS

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs support small-scale farms and strengthen local food systems by encouraging consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from farmers. Interested consumers purchase a share and in return, receive seasonal produce throughout the specified season. This fall KGD is offering full and half Thanksgiving Shares, which can be picked up at Eastern Market’s Thanksgiving Market on November 26th. For more information or to enroll, click here.

GROWN TO ORDER NATIVE PLANTS

Keep Growing Detroit grows limited quantities of Michigan native plants for our partners and the growers we serve.  Why Native plants? Because they are low-maintenance and beautiful and they provide critical habitat for butterflies, hummingbirds, songbirds, and beneficial insects. Most importantly, native plants protect fresh water by helping to manage stormwater and stabilize soil. We’re hosting a Native Perennial Plant Sale in August. Check out what’s available and place orders here.

GROWN TO ORDER VEGETABLE, HERB, & FLOWER TRANSPLANTS

Every season Keep Growing Detroit sells Grown-To-Order vegetable, herb, and flower transplants to Garden Resource Program members and Partners in Food Sovereighty to help make sure Detroit’s food supply stays diverse and interesting. All plants are grown without the use of chemical pesticides or herbicides. The minimum order is one flat. Flats cost $15 each and contain 50 or 72 seedlings (customer’s choice). Payment is due at the time an order is placed. Availability is subject to change given limited quantities. Orders will be confirmed as they are received.

Order 2019 Grown to Order Fall Crops by June 14th using this form.
