Joshua Budiongan is a community design architect and project manager at the Detroit Collaborative Design Center (DCDC), where he works on planning and design projects with communities across Detroit. Josh is an anti-racist design justice activist in the built environment and within the construction and design professions. He is an adjunct architectural studio professor at the Detroit Mercy School of Architecture + Community Development, where he earned his M.Arch, and teaches with Dark Matter University. Josh serves on the board of directors for the Association for Community Design, and is a core organizer with Design As Protest Collective and Dark Matter University. Outside of this work, Josh is a musician, record collector, enjoys cycling and being in touch with nature. His ever-expanding vegetable and native plant gardens began around 2016 as a GRP member, and has continued to bring him closer to many areas of KGD’s food sovereignty mission.
