LOLA KRISTI GIBSON-BERG

she/her

Farm Activation Coordinator

Born and raised in northwest Detroit, Lola is an alum of The Roeper School. Her interest in growing food was sparked at Harvest of Joy Farm as a senior at Kalamazoo College. After graduating with a BA in Human Development and Social Relations, she returned to Detroit. She then joined Cap Corps Midwest as a volunteer at Detroit Cristo Rey High School. There, as a Garden Resource Program member and graduate of KGD’s Urban Roots program, she supported the creation of a school garden and facilitated conversations about race and racism. Lola then expanded her interests in making food, event planning, and local food systems for two years at Rose’s Fine Food before arriving at KGD. Outside of work, Lola is a Buddy’s Pizza enthusiast, baker, and visitor of homelands.
