STERLING BOWMAN-RANDALL

she/her

Garden Development Coordinator

As the GRP Activation Coordinator at KGD, Sterling engages with Garden Resource Program members to establish their goals and plans for the season. You will be sure to see her on plant and seed distribution days as well as other community events. Sterling is a native Detroiter who moved to South Georgia as a teen and always knew she would eventually return home. As a college student, she began learning about Detroit’s rich urban agricultural history and began volunteering with a local family farm to start gathering knowledge to take home with her. Last year, she partnered with a friend to begin hosting informal social gatherings for local gardeners as a way to build relationships and share resources. Her hobbies include reading, crocheting, cooking, and container gardening. She is interested in herbalism and familial genealogy research. Sterling received her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Valdosta State University.
