In celebration of October, as a time of great harvest and Filipino American History Month, Danielle teaches us how to make pinakbet. This is an indigenous Filipino stew and family recipe that includes veggies grown here in Detroit, even some from seeds saved from Danielle’s dad! Through this offering she’ll also share indigenous Filipino food practices to honor ancestors, and focus on bahay kubo veggies that can grow both in the backyards of the Philippines and Detroit. Join us as we cook up this hearty dish of eggplants, okra, squash, bitter melon, and beans that will transport you from Motown to Manila in one bite. Open to the first 25 people
