Medicinal Plants

2024 Growing a Medicine Garden with Lottie Spady

Keep Growing Detroit is excited to announce a comprehensive four-part series of classes titled "Growing a Medicine Garden," taught by renowned herbalist Lottie Spady. Lottie, the founder of Earthseed Detroit, a medicinal herb company, is a dedicated environmental and food justice activist with over ten years of formal study in herbalism. Her expertise includes wildcrafting herbs for tinctures and medicinal tea blends.

The series offers an opportunity to identify wild-growing herbs, understand their medicinal properties, learn how to establish and maintain a medicinal herb garden, and practice herbal medicine making. Participants will receive supplies to start their own medicinal herb garden, including plants and tincture-making materials. A certificate of completion will be awarded to those who attend all required activities. Applications are currently closed for 2024.
