Seasonal Farmer
MJ is excited to join the Farm Team at Keep Growing Detroit as a Seasonal Farmer. As a lifelong gardener and lover of the outdoors and food-ways, MJ is grateful to be working on transplant production, high tunnel cultivation, and assisting Detroit’s thriving and intricate collective of growers through the Garden Resource Program and Grown in Detroit. MJ has been a member of the KGD's Garden Resource program for many years, stewarding a double lot backyard garden with their housing cooperative on the East Side. With a decades-long background in film production and non-profit management positions, they’re jazzed about systems and stories that serve to capture the nuances of our relationality to each other and our more-than-human kin. When not on the farm, MJ finds joy in biking the city, urban foraging, fermentation, and reading and writing genre fiction.
